Atlantis, The Palm has revolutionised the waterpark landscape with the recent opening of the $27 million expansion of Aquaventure. The star attraction is the soaring 40 metre Tower of Poseidon, packed with heart pumping rides.

This innovative development features a number of firsts, including the world’s largest diameter slide and the world’s first vertical banking family ride with a double hump at the end.

There is also another fabulous first with the double slide within a slide experience, allowing tube riders in one ride to watch the other sliders dramatically in action, suspended above them!

Alan Leibman, CEO of Kerzner, said ‘This upcoming expansion will be more exhilarating than anything we have unveiled before, with unbelievable new rides the likes of which have not been seen anywhere in the world’.

On a recent Dubai Tourism Fam trip Beverly Clarke from Spears Travel was at Aquaventure for the opening party, ‘We experienced Poseidon`s Revenge. Stepping into a capsule, the floor drops away beneath you and you are hurled down a tube at rocket speed. The raft rides Aquaconda and Zoomerango are the best I have been on. Sitting in a 6-seater raft you are hurled at ridiculous angles down huge water slides. Fantastic fun!'
