Help is at hand with the launch of Dubai Tourism’s new iPad and iPhone app, Dubai The Destination. This free destination guide (click this link to see the web version) will assist you in planning the trip of a lifetime for your customers!

The guide has three main sections; ‘What, Where and When’ and will inspire your clients through beautiful images and videos of Dubai’s vibrant cityscape, golden beaches and sophisticated culture.

There is an interactive Dubai map which allows you to explore some of the best attractions the city has to offer. The app can also help your customers pick the best time to visit by listing a variety of exciting events throughout the year.

The guide also contains four mini-sections on topics key to Dubai – Culture, Family, Affordability and Luxury – to help find the Dubai holiday to suit everyone. Explore the cultural gems from museums and religious centres to souks and Bedouin experiences in the desert.

It will enable customers to discover the wealth of family facilities and activities available. They can also learn about Dubai’s affordable hotel accommodation and dining options, free activities and inexpensive transport.

- The TimeOut Dubai app has the most up to date information on the best restaurants, nightlife, films, things to do and places to see.

- The Dubai Calendar app is the place to go for the official listing of events in Dubai, including concerts, exhibitions, festivals and sports.

- If you’re a savvy shopper, then the Dubai Mall app is a must-have, with interactive maps, detailed directions and the latest offers.

Mövenpick Hotel Apartments The Square proving popular
The hotel opened in January in Dubai’s historic Deira district, close to Al Mamzar Beach Park. It is the Swiss chain’s fifth property in Dubai, with 180 superior and deluxe rooms, as well as one and two bedroom apartment suites.

Mission:Possible ‘secret’ agents selected
Many thanks to everyone who entered the recent Travel Weekly Mission:Possible 2 competition. Twenty secret agents have now been selected for the daring mission. They will be jetting off to Dubai later this month and Dubai Update will be reporting on their adventures.
